Stairlift Mechanical parts

Besides the stairlift electrical parts, the stairlift is also made up of important mechanical parts. After all, stair lift started off as a mechanical device before evolving to include electronics on board.

The first mechanical part to introduce is the stairlift track. This track is usually laid against the side of the lift either stuck to the wall or fitted to the railings. The track determines the path that the stairlift will take when moving. The track has be kept free from obstacles that will hinder the movement. It must also be lubricated frequently so there will be no creaking sound when the stairlift is moving.

The stairlift track allows a beam to be fitted and move along its groove. This beam, in turn, supports the stair lift platform or chair where the user will be controlling the stair lift. The next most important component is the stair lift battery, this is the heart of the stair lift. They can be dry or well depending on the user requirements. The control joystick is also another mechanical device which helps one to move the stairlift up or down.
